Jason D. Conklin, 22, dies; was full-time police officer

TUXEDO PARK - Jason D. Conklin of Monroe, a police officer for the Village of Tuxedo Park and a lifelong resident of the area, died Thursday, Aug. 21, in Tuxedo Park.  He was 22. The son of Jake and Sandie Spivak Conklin, he was born Oct. 29, 1974, in Suffern. He was a 1993 graduate of Monroe Woodbury High School and was pursuing an associate's degree in criminal justice at Rockland County Community College.  He was a graduate of Rockland County Police Academy.  He was also an avid hunter, fisherman and skier.  His family said, "Jason fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a full-time police officer." Survivors include his parents, at home; three brothers, Jeff Conklin and Steven Conklin, both of Monroe, and David Conklin of Tuxedo; two sisters, Cindi Conklin of Suffern and Stephanie Conklin of Tuxkahoe; and several neices and nephews.  Friends may call from 7 to 9p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9p.m. Sunday at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.  The Rev. George Langberg will officiate.  Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery.
